Organization-Defined Parameters

The ODPs page provides a centralized view of all Organization-Defined Parameters (ODPs) in your environment.

ODPs are user-configurable variables and resources that power the automation of compliance controls. Each ODP is defined by your organization and ensures flexibility and consistency in your compliance workflows.

On the ODPs page, each parameter is displayed with the following details:

  • Name – The unique identifier for the ODP.
  • Value – The current value or content assigned to the ODP.
  • Type – The parameter type (e.g., Number, Lookup, String, or Select).
  • Automations – The automation where the ODP is in use.

This overview makes it easy to understand how ODPs are configured and where they are applied.

Editing ODPs

To update an existing ODP:

  1. Locate the ODP in the list.

  2. Select the pencil icon next to it.

  3. A pop-up window will appear with a field corresponding to the ODP type:

    • Number – Enter or adjust a numeric value.
    • Lookup List – Select or edit the lookup from the list of available lookups in your system.
    • String – Provide a free-text value.
    • Select – Choose from a predefined set of options.
  4. Save your changes.

Updates are applied immediately and reflected in any automations that use the parameter.

Why ODPs Matter

ODPs simplify compliance automation by allowing you to define values once and reuse them across multiple controls. This ensures:

  • Consistency – A single source of truth for automation inputs.
  • Flexibility – Easily adjust parameters without rewriting automations.
  • Traceability – Quickly see which automations depend on a specific ODP.
tip

Regularly review your ODPs to confirm they are up to date and aligned with your organization’s compliance requirements.
